This is a wonderful book. Its rhyming prose tells the story of
a daughter that was whining for a pet. She begs her father to
let her keep an octopus that follows her home. Her angry father
reminds her of all of the pets that she has had:
Penguins (all lined up in the refrigerator)
Bear (hibernating curved around the sofa)
Crocodile (under the bed)
Ostrich (with its head in the sink)
G iraffe (waving good bye through the chimney)
These rediculous pets are highlighted by the wonderful illustrations
in the book.
